Will you assemble my furniture?
Yes we will. We don't want the prospect of having to deliver or assemble your furniture to cause you any anxiety. If you prefer to pick up your own items, you may do so at no extra charge. If you would like us to assemble them before you pick them up, there is a $20 per item fee. If you want us to deliver and assemble your items, we charge just $60 for both services for deliveries in Anchorage for up to three items. Each additional item Item that requires Assembly: $ 20, Each Additional Item that doesn’t require Assembly: No Additional Charge. Deliveries outside of Anchorage cost $90 to Palmer, Wasilla or Girdwood, and $100 to Big Lake, Houston or Willow. Deliveries to the Mat-Su Valley are generally made only one day per week. Scan Home does not deliver beyond these locations in our own trucks, and instead uses common carriers.
Does Scan Home have a catalog?
Our website is an online catalog showcasing the furniture we carry. If you want to know more about a manufacturer or an item that we carry, call a sales associate at 907-562-6911 or 1-800-478-7226. We will gladly send you information via fax, e-mail or postal mail.
Can I make purchases online?
No. Please contact us via phone, fax or email to finalize your purchase.
Can I send items as gifts?
Yes. Please advise your sales associate of the nature of the event, and when and how you would like your selection delivered. We will take extra special care of it.
Can I order by telephone or fax?
Yes. You can place an order by telephone by calling 907-562-6911 during normal business hours or toll-free in Alaska, 1-800-478-7226. You may also fax your order to 907-561-6813, or e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What forms of payment are accepted for purchases?
Scan Home accepts most major credit cards including Visa, Discover, MasterCard and American Express. We also accept personal checks, money orders and of course cash.
How can I find out the status of my order?
When you place an order with us we will do our best to give you an approximate arrival time frame. This may change, however, and your items may arrive sooner, or sometimes a little later, than their original estimate. We are pleased to provide you with updates of your order’s status if you email us at email@example.com, or call us at 907-562-6911 or Toll Free 1-800-478-7226 (within Alaska) during normal business hours.
How can I make a change or cancel my order?
To make a change or cancel your order, please contact Scan Home immediately by calling 1-907-562-6911 or 1-800-478-7226 (toll-free) within Alaska, or by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be advised that depending on the circumstances, we may not be able to allow you to change or cancel your order.
Must I pay sales tax?
We are required to collect sales tax for deliveries to these states: AL, AZ, CA, CO*, CT*, FL*, GA*, IL, IN, KS*, KY*, LA*, MA, MD, MI*, MN, MO, MS*, NC*, NJ, NV*, NY*, OH, OK*, PA*, RI, TN*, TX*, UT, VA, WA*, WI* and Washington D.C.*
States with an asterisk require tax on delivery charges. In those cases, the local sales tax of the delivery destination is charged.
Do you offer delivery in the Anchorage area?
Scan Home delivers furniture in its own trucks throughout Anchorage and from the Mat-Su Valley in the north to Girdwood in the south. See above discussion under “Will you assemble my furniture” for current rates.
What about shipments to destinations outside of Anchorage and the Valley?
Scan Home will gladly ship your purchases, either via air or common carrier. In most cases shipments will be sent “freight collect”, meaning the shipping company will expect payment from you before they deliver your merchandise. Shipments will also be insured for the amount of the purchase, with that charge added to your shipping charges. Separate items special-ordered directly from our suppliers may not arrive in the same delivery shipment.
Do you offer “rush” delivery services?
Items are not usually express-shipped due to cost. In rare cases special arrangements can be made for expedited shipping.
How are shipping, handling and delivery charges calculated?
In most cases the exact charge for these services is charged directly to the customer by the shipping or freight company. In cases where Scan Home must charge the customer directly for shipping costs, we will do our best to estimate the exact cost and only charge the customer that amount.
